Trainee Chemist

Perform organic synthesis reactions under the guidance of senior scientists. Carry out reaction setup, monitoring, work-up, isolation, purification, and characterization of organic compounds. Monitor reactions using TLC and assist with interpretation of analytical data such as HPLC, LC-MS, and NMR. Perform purification techniques including column chromatography, crystallization, extraction, and distillation. Conduct literature searches and understand reported synthetic procedures. Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks, experimental records, and documentation. Handle laboratory chemicals, reagents, solvents, and equipment safely. Follow laboratory SOPs, safety guidelines, and good documentation practices. Support the synthesis of novel building blocks, pharmaceutical intermediates, API intermediates, and custom synthesis projects.
